In the dying stages of Canterbury's 18-16 loss to the Cronulla Sharks, Josh Reynolds made contact with Valentine Holmes' head as the latter shanked a field goal attempt well wide.
Referee Gerard Sutton was left with no choice but to give the Sharks a penalty right in front of the posts - which Holmes converted to take the margin out to eight points.

Michael Lichaa then scored a late try for the Dogs, meaning that penalty goal ended up being the winning margin for the away side.
After the penalty decision, Bulldogs skipper James Graham was irate, and took his frustrations out on the referee; a spectacle that we've definitely seen before.
Just a few months ago, on Good Friday, Graham and teammate David Klemmer exploded with outrage after the former took Rabbitohs' halfback Adam Reynolds out at the knees when he was attempting to tie the game with a field goal. The Dogs went on to lose by one point.

Coincidentally, Gerard Sutton was the referee that day too - and so now having been on the receiving end of the fiery Brit's tirade, must not really be scared of anything.

The Bulldogs dropped to seventh place on the ladder with the loss, Cronulla leapfrogging them to join Melbourne on 24 competition points.
