Clients from Camooweal and Mount Isa were treated to canapés followed by a lunch of sausages, beef patties and mixed salads, and a sponge cake for dessert, all served by support workers.
Maida Whelan entertained the crowd of more than 25 people using her guitar skills and signing happy birthday as clients, staff and friends joined in.
D&R Community Services is a group that cares for senior members, who still live at home and find it hard to travel, clean or get groceries.
Co-ordinator Sonja Clark said the team was passionate about their jobs and helping those in the community in need.
“Our service offers people assistance within their home and getting out in the community and assisting careers and helps with getting out and doing the same,” Ms Clark said.
