NEW MATES: Member for Mount Isa Rob Katter, Queensland Police Minister, Mount Isa Mayor Tony McGrady, new Australian citizen Raji Gunatilake and councillor George Fortune.
The 24 people originate from 11 different countries - Portugal, United Kingdom, India, Nepal, Zimbabwe, The Philippines, Sri Lanka, Mongolia, Zambia, Nigeria and New Zealand.
The citizenship ceremony was attended by Queensland Minister Jo-Ann Miller, who led the crowd in a rendition of ‘‘Aussie, Aussie Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi’’, which was received with much enthusiasm.
