Davis strained his hamstring during the Giants' 21-point loss to Port Adelaide on Saturday and needed to be subbed out of the game at half-time.
GWS, who are six points outside the top eight with three rounds remaining, are aiming to qualify for a maiden finals berth just three years after entering the AFL.
But with Davis joining the likes of Shane Mumford (ankle), Dylan Shiel (knee) and potentially Tom Scully (shoulder) as players who won't play again this year, the Giants' task will be tough.
With Tim Mohr (knee) also out for the season, Davis' absence will further stretch the team's key defensive stocks.
Rory Lobb (quad), Lachie Whitfield (concussion) and Matthew Buntine (concussion) are either in doubt or have been ruled out of Greater Western Sydney's season-defining clash against the Swans on Saturday at Spotless Stadium as well.
In better news for the GWS, star midfielders Adam Treloar (groin) and Stephen Coniglio (concussion) will be available for selection this week.
