Our crack(pot) panel returns to run the rule over round 21 of the AFL season:

Fossie:
1. Hawks coach Alistair Clarkson's take on Luke Hodge's hit on Port Adelaide superstar Chad Wingard defied logic. "Just run the tape at full speed [it's a] hard game," he said in a post match interview. I agree with you Clarko, but the goal post is pretty hard too and Hodge slammed Wingard's head into it.
2. After the Dockers completely humiliated the Eagles in round three, you would have been locked away if you suggested West Coast could finish higher than Freo. With two rounds to go, it's time to loosen the straight jacket, because not only will West Coast finish above the fading Dockers, but the Eagles will also secure the minor Premiership.
3. Freo's Nat Fyfe would get reported for helping an old lady across the road. He only had eyes for the ball but sadly should miss a week for his sloppy elbow on Roos player Ben Jacobs. What is sadder, he would be ineligible to win the Brownlow.

The People's Elbo:
1. Port Adelaide's Chad Wingard must be in the 2015 All-Australian team. He has kicked multiple goals in the past 13 games - a total of 41 goals in that time. He has 51 goals from 20 games this season.
2. The round 14 "draw" between Adelaide and Geelong due to the death of Crows coach Phil Walsh now has the potential for significant ramifications to this season.  Not only could the Cats miss out on a place in the finals by two points, but if Nat Fyfe gets rubbed out by the tribunal this week (and he shouldn't) could missing Brownlow Medal votes in that game rob Patrick Dangerfield of the honour?
3. That should be "all she wrote" for the Coleman Medal. Josh Kennedy's seven against the Bulldogs took his tally to 71 - 17 ahead of Giant Jeremy Cameron, with two weeks to go. The key Eagle loves playing the Dogs, with 41 goals from 11 games against them, including 10 against them in round nine, 2011.

Nick:
1. The Brendon Ah Chee-Angus Monfries blunder against Hawthorn was a shocker. Ah Chee shouldn't have handballed it to Monfries after marking 15 metres out and Monfries shouldn't have called for it. 
2. But that wasn't the biggest blunder of the round. Stevie J took that honour. Johnson waltzed into an open goal only to be tackled by Shane Savage who affected his kick causing him to miss.

3. Nat Fyfe - why why why? In real time his hit on Jacobs looked worse than what it was but a fine will be enough to rule him ineligible for the Brownlow.

Claire:
1. Every silver lining has a cloud. It must be particularly bittersweet for Port Adelaide to play as well as it did against the Hawks - and win - only to be reminded that they will not be able to pull out that sort of performance in September. On a more positive note, maybe that will be the start the Power needed to get back to playing the footy (in 2016 and beyond) that almost saw it make the grand final last year.
2. A draw really does leave you with a weird feeling. If close games are the most exciting games, how much more thrilling would it be to play extra time at the end of regular season games to decide a winner? It would also stop people saying that two points are "handy" in the context of where teams sit on the ladder. Surely four points are "handier", always? (The same principle stands for a "handy behind". Who wouldn't rather take the six points?!)
3. Who would be a Carlton supporter? (Or, for that matter, who would be a Melbourne supporter...)

Whitey:
1. Docker Zac Dawson showed in the final moments of yesterday's loss to North why he never kicks the ball. From a bigger picture perspective, Freo can't win a flag if it continues to butcher the footy like it did on Sunday. Even in the first half, when the Dockers looked in complete control, the wastefulness was a huge concern.
2. Chris Masten might be the resident West Coast biter but increasingly when I look at Dom Sheed I'm reminded of Bela Lugosi as Dracula.

3. The nine-year-old aspiring umpire Hugh Florence was the cutest thing to come out of the weekend. But I did briefly (and entirely jokingly) wonder how he might get scolded at home: "Clean your room...MAGGOT!"
