Ray finished clear on top of this year’s standings with 16 points for the best and fairest player individual accolade ahead of Tigers’ Jason Boydle and Buffaloes’ Alistair Baker.
Boydle was runner-up with 13 points while Baker finished with 12 points after leading at the halfway point of the season.
Jameson Billy claimed the Leo White Memorial trophy for the leading goal kicker of the regular season ahead of Tigers forward Brodie Deverell.
Ray picked up his second piece of silverware on Saturday night with the Turner Trophy, which is awarded to the best Alpurrrurulam player of the season.
Two legends of the local game Phil Rodriguez and Jameson Billy were made life members of Mount Isa AFL for their major contributions in the advancement of footy for several years.
Mount Isa AFL organiser Leif Welin said it was necessary to recognise some of the great work done by dedicated members of the local setup.
“Sometimes you see them and other times men of this calibre just toil away, not being noticed or asking for anything,” Welin said.
Tigers officially received its minor premiership with coach Craig Brice and captain Niall Kilcoyne accepting the shield on Saturday night.
“I’d like to thank all of the clubs for their efforts throughout the year,” Kilcoyne said.
Brice admitted that the 2015 season will probably be his last involved with Mount Isa AFL but has fond memories.
“It’s a fantastic little competition we’ve got here,” Brice said.
“It’s a great atmosphere and the people make that. I’ve seen the players and the competition grow. It’s just terrific with what we have now from where it was five years ago.”
Brice said his players deserved the minor premiership after putting in the hard yards long before the season got underway.
“It’s nice to have. It’s been a fantastic season. A lot of hard work has gone into that shield and it’s probably the best season we’ve had in the last five to six years with Tigers. We want the big one in a couple of weeks too.”
