Webb revealed on Saturday night at the Cargill medal dinner that he would be standing down as head coach of the Young Guns after this season.
When asked what his fondest memories at the club have been over his two-year stint at the helm, Webb only had positive remarks.
“Being at home with them at training has been the best,” Webb said.
“I’ve seen the younger boys play the game and develop since I started teaching them. They’ve learnt a lot.”
Webb has been particularly delighted with one of his brightest students Garrick Ray, who claimed the competitions best and fairest accolade last weekend.
“Last year he didn’t know much about the game. He has improved a lot now. It makes me feel a bit proud.”
But now Webb is purely focussed on the anticipated difficult task ahead against Rovers tomorrow.
“We’ve had a big, big talk about this weekend. This is our last chance or we hang up our boots until next year.”
Webb said his players’ downfall against Tigers last week was their inability to use ball possession efficiently.
“We weren’t getting rid of the ball quick enough and tried to take on Tigers players a lot.”
“The boys are confident they can go out there and win it. They want to give the young boys a taste of a grand final.”
History suggests that the Northern Territory-based side have the upper hand of Rovers with 39 and 55-point wins in the previous two fixtures.
