Richmond star Dustin Martin has been fined $2000 for his two-finger 'salute' delivered to Collingwood fans last week.

Martin had been referred to the AFL football operations department on Monday in relation to the gesture made to the Magpies cheer squad during the Tigers' 91-point win over the Pies last Saturday.
He had previously had a suspended sanction imposed on him in 2013 for a handcuffs gesture made during the elimination final loss to Carlton that year.
The AFL released a statement on Thursday afternoon explaining that no further action would be taken on top of the suspended fine, which would now be imposed.
"The MRP referred Martin's case back to the Football Department for decision, due to the fact the Richmond player had had a suspended $2000 sanction fine imposed on him for an on-field gesture made during the 2013 season," the league said.
"After contacting the club and receiving a written explanation from the player, it was decided the suspended sanction from 2013 would be imposed for this matter, with no further penalty beyond the $2000 fine."
