The 32-year-old is facing a criminal charge of fraud.

A statement from police said while the officer in question is still under investigation it does not mean that the allegations against them has been proved at this stage.  

Police have said they have a duty to inform the public when a member faces disciplinary processes involving stand down or suspension.
