A meeting in Mt Isa on Monday between local politicians, police and community service representatives will aim to progress a community action plan for the city of Mount Isa following recent social unrest.

The meeting will be chaired by Mayor Tony McGrady and will include the State Member for Mount Isa, Rob Katter, and representatives from the Kalkadoon Traditional Owners, local business, the local Liquor Accord, and community based organisations.
Also in attendance will be the Police Commissioner and senior level representatives from a broad range of government departments.
Cr McGrady said the meeting would be more than a “talk fest”.
“This gathering of such influential public decision makers in one room proves to me that our Government is really anxious to help and assist,” he said.
