Mankinis, cross-dressers and WWE wrestlers were just some of the outrageous costumes Bulldogs players donned at their annual Mad Monday celebrations after losing to the Roosters on Friday.

It's hard enough to differentiate between Brett Morris and his identical twin Josh, but when the former emerged from The Henson in Marrickville fully kitted with identical hat, beard and sunglasses to that of Alan Garner – the socially awkward character in the Hangover movies – reporters were a little baffled.

"I asked my wife if I could take the baby holder and she said: "No, because you'll spill beer on it and I don't want the baby reeking like beer," Morris explained. "So I'm actually short a baby carrier, but oh well, what can you do."

Almost everyone in the Bulldogs squad got into the spirit as they settled in for a long day of drinking and reflecting on a long season.

Michael Lichaa wore a mankini – famously worn by Sacha Baron Cohen in the movie Borat – under some other items of clothing.

Josh Morris arrived as Tom Cruise from A Few Good Men and stood by the bar next to a bespectacled Trent Hodkinson dressed as the Bruce Willis character Harry Stamper from the 1998 film Armageddon.

Moses Mbye turned a few heads on the streets of Marrickville went he strolled in wearing low-cut denim pants and a peroxide blonde wig in an attempt to look like one of the girls from White Chicks.

Brett Morris agreed the five-eighth was looking pretty good and so, too, his other teammates.

"He's got a great set of pins on him," Morris said of Mybe's legs. "Obviously some of the boys have had a few beers over the weekend, so there's some pretty ugly sights in there, but there's a couple of guys who are nice and fresh.

"Mad Monday is a part of rugby league. Everyone knows what happens after you lose and you go and have a few beers and reflect. Hopefully you guys got a bit of a kick out of it. For us it's just about celebrating the year we had. Even though we didn't go all the way, it's about reflecting on the good times we had."

Of the remaining players who were seen outside the pub, Josh Jackson put forward an impressive Happy Gilmore impersonation, Dave Klemmer wore a nappy and baby shirt, and of course only Greg Eastwood would dress up as John Cena in a skin-tight outfit.
