The fans have had their say on who was the best player in 2015.

Fremantle superstar Nat Fyfe was the obvious choice, according to the official AFL Fans Association.

The Dockers' midfield jet received a whopping 40per cent of the vote, way ahead of the next best, who were fellow All-Australians North Melbourne ruckman Todd Goldstein and West Coast star Matt Priddis.

The fans association also voted on categories such as "best defender", which went to Richmond rebound king Alex Rance, and "best forward", which was Coleman medallist Josh Kennedy of West Coast.

There was a closer result in the "most exciting player" award, which went to Adelaide livewire Eddie Betts, but Western Bulldogs showman Jake Stringer and Port Adelaide rocket Chad Wingard weren't far behind.

Sydney young gun Isaac Heeney was the "best performer from the 2014 AFL national draft" and there was a bunch of off-field-related awards as well.

The MCG was named the "best AFL venue" with 60per cent of the vote, while Port Adelaide's "Alberton Crowd" won the "supporter group of the year".

In terms of the game's broadcast, the fans thought Channel Seven's Dennis Cometti was the pick of the commentators.

The association also selected one individual supporter to be recognised as "fan of the year".

A long-time Collingwood supporter, Lesley Benham, took out the female category, while a Port Adelaide supporter, Liam Briggs, won in the male category.
