Representatives will also attend a Mount Isa to Townsville Economic Zone (Mitez) meeting on Thursday.
Cloncurry Acting Mayor Jane McMillan said she would speak on the importance of a new dam in the North West, specifically that of Cave Hill on the Cloncurry River.
“We are still in the grips of a crippling drought...and still we have no further commitment to a sustainable water supply for Cloncurry and North West Queensland,” Councillor McMillan said.
Mount Isa Mayor Tony McGrady said he would seek confirmation the government would support suggestions made in the North West Queensland Strategic Development Study.
“Cave Hill dam is obviously one of them (suggestions) released by the previous government not long before it lost office.
“Not a lot has been achieved at this stage,” Cr McGrady said.
