Broadcasters' microphones also picked up the young Australian swearing and television commentators apologised to their audiences for one of his outbursts.
Kyrgios got off to a good start against Benoit Paire, who sits two places above him in the tennis world rankings.
But he allegedly yelled "F--- me" as he started to fall apart during the second set and television commentators said they could later hear him swearing under his breath.
He hit the ball into the roof after being broken in the third.
Kyrgios was already on thin ice with tennis administrators after he sledged Stan Wawrinka, saying "Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend," referring to his friend Thanasi Kokkinakis and fellow tennis player, 19-year-old Donna Vekic.
Kyrgios could face a four week ban if he gets another fine of more than $US5,000 for verbal or physical abuse.
The 26-year-old Frenchman went on to beat him with a decisive final set 3-6 6-4 6-1 to advance to the semi-final against local hero Kei Nishikori.
