For some it was to make an appearance by entering the Fashions on the Field.
But for Peter Bakhash and Jeannie Brookhouse, from Curra near Gympie, attendance at the Cloncurry Cup Race Day was to acknowledge a legacy.
Mr Bakhash was in Cloncurry to watch the race named after his parents.
The Joe and Pauline Bakhash Memorial QTIS Class 2 1000 metre Handicap was the second race of the day, beginning at 1.40pm.
The memorial race’s winner was Born to Fire at a time of 0:55.91.
The next Cloncurry race meet will be on October 31.
Jacqueline Curley, Gipsey Plains, Maree Cook, Elrose Station, and a fashions on the field classic winner, Lorena Jefferis,from Elrose Station.
Terri Paine and Chloe Brunker, both from Cloncurry, get dolled up for the races last Saturday.
Backpackers have a cheerful day at the Cloncurry Races last Saturday. They are Victor Baasa, Germany, Til Tille, Germany, Lea Puntheller, Germany, and Matthew Harris, Canada.
