For the second year Mount Isa resident Leanne Kum Sing will be hosting her very own Halloween party for the city’s youths.
Her love of Halloween started when she took her son and two nieces out trick or treating. Now Ms Kum Sing said she had started her event to begin an initiative to award disadvantaged youths.
“It started out as an award program for disadvantaged youths,” she said.
“To award good behaviour for respecting others, respecting the community.
“They (children) are brought out to my event first then the remaining households on the list.”
For a list of houses participating this year, join the Mount Isa Halloween Network Facebook page. Trick or treating will run from 6pm until 9pm.
Ms Kum Sing said everyone was welcome to visit, but all children must be accompanied by carers or an adult. Two $50 gift cards will also be raffled off for the kids who attend.
