Mount Isa community member Barry Byrne said he donated the books to mark the service of military personnel, both past and present.
“I think they sacrificed a great deal for the defence of this country,” he said.
Two large volumes and several DVDs on World War I and II were donated to the Mount Isa Library and can now be borrowed by members of the public.
Mr Byrne is on a disability pension but saves his money so that he is able to buy and donate books for the worthy cause.
“I prefer to do this on Remembrance Day because it isn’t recognised as much,” Mr Byrne said.
Mr Byrne first donated books and DVDs in 2014 and hopes to do it for many years to come.
Wednesday’s Remembrance Day will mark 97 years since the Armistice that ended World War I.
