The more level-headed among you might say, yes, of course, there are literally hundreds of better ways: but those of us who live the dreamer's life choose to believe there is something special, something spiritually nourishing, about the courtship methods illustrated by Dating Naked (Eleven, 9.30pm).

Dating Naked is a show deeply rooted in the fundamentals of human psychology: it combines our innate love of seeing nude people with our innate love of seeing nude people's rude bits blurred out.

That's probably the show's fatal flaw, its inability to actually show the best parts.

Because, believe it or not, we're not tuning in to a show called Dating Naked because we're fascinated by the dynamics of human relationships in their embryonic stages.

Words cannot express how little Dating Naked makes you care about the romantic travails of its contestants. You can barely even hear the romantic travails anyway, over your own giggling.

It's possible that when Adam and Eve covered themselves up in the Garden of Eden, it wasn't because they were ashamed of their nakedness; they were just laughing too hard to get anything done.

Friday's episode of Dating Naked sees the touching meeting of Kerri and Michael. Kerri is a naked woman, and Michael is a naked man. They hit it off right away. There seems to be a real connection there and, also, they are both naked, although Michael has a lot of tattoos, which seems a bit like cheating. Are you not proud of your naked body, Michael? Why must you cover it with ink?

Kerri and Michael talk a lot about how much fun they're having and what great people they both seem to be, but don't talk at all about how great their bodies are and how much they enjoy looking at each other's genitals.

That's the hilarious thing about Dating Naked: everyone's running around naked and they're talking about "what's the most important thing you've learnt in the last couple of years" instead of "wow that's a big one". At least Moenay gets into the spirit, encouraging Chris to do some jumping jacks, "so I can see it go up and down".

There needs to be more of that – at least 45 per cent of the show could be jumping jacks, and the rest slow-motion volleyball, and nobody would complain.

Further viewing: The Hunger Games (Nine, 8.30pm) is the blockbuster tale of Katniss Everdeen, a young girl who suffers from hunger, and sees games as the only way to assuage it.

The Birdcage (Gem, 8.30pm) is a comedic gem featuring Nathan Lane, Robin Williams and Gene Hackman all in top form.

Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (7Mate, 7pm) introduced us all to the immortal catchphrase: "Shut up, Anakin."
