It’s 13 years of a set plan and now I’m off to the real world
- Jasmine Darcy
The pupils were among thousands across Queensland who walked out of school gates for the final time to begin the next phase of their lives.
Graduating Cloncurry State School student Jasmine Darcy plans to work full-time in Brisbane next year and admitted to mixed emotions in her final week of school.
“I’m excited, but I’m also scared to be finishing school at the same time,” Jasmine said. “It’s 13 years of a set plan and now I’m off to the real world.”
Like most senior students, Jasmine found Year 12 stressful on occasions, but she said there were also plenty of good times.
“Even with all the stress there’s always new people to meet and more friends to make within the school,” she said.
Cloncurry State School Head of Department Tracey Hill said the majority of students were relieved the year was over.
“Everyone’s very excited,” she said.
“Today (Wednesday) I’ve got a couple of students finishing off their last assessment pieces and we also had a big lunch to celebrate.”
