It is understood captain and Brownlow medallist Jobe Watson has been among those to give evidence to the hearing before the panel of independent arbitrators.
It is the first time players have given evidence in a tribunal hearing over the supplements case and been cross-examined over the events at Windy Hill in 2012.
It is understood final submissions are being made in the hearing that was due to last five days.
A judgment is still hoped for before Christmas.
The World Anti-Doping Agency is appealing the AFL anti-doping tribunal's decision to clear 34 past and present Essendon players of charges of using a prohibited substance, Thymosin Beta 4.
The hearing is closed to the public and the media.
The AFL anti-doping tribunal cleared the players because it could not be "comfortably satisfied" that they were given the substance, but WADA argues the bar for comfortable satisfaction was set too high.
As Fairfax Media revealed in August, WADA claims it found abnormally high amounts of TB-4 in the frozen urine samples of two Dons players from the 2012 list, and argues this suggests external administration of the substance.
Essendon went into the hearing believing, based on their legal advice, that even if the players were found guilty of a doping violation, they were unlikely to miss games of football. The AFL's submission to CAS has argued that in the event of a guilty verdict any suspensions should be entirely backdated so those who are still playing would be able to start the 2016 season.
