The annual Mayor’s Christmas Morning Tea for seniors is approaching, and this year’s theme is sure to set the dance floor alight.
The morning tea will be held on Tuesday, December 1, from 10am at the Mount Isa Civic Centre.
They have given so much to this city, and throwing a party in their honour is a way of showing our appreciation."
- Tony McGrady
Christmas at Graceland will be celebrated by all things 50’s Elvis, with entertainer Alex Waters featuring Elvis melodies and Christmas carols.
To provide a traditional Christmas theme to the event, Mayor Tony McGrady said there would be classic carols provided by Kate Hartley and the St Kieran’s school choir.
Councillor McGrady said the morning tea was an important reminder to not forget about seniors and the elderly this holiday season.
“This is our way of giving back to the seniors of Mount Isa.
They have given so much to this city, and throwing a party in their honour is a way of showing our appreciation,” he said.
The free event for seniors runs from 10am to noon.
