He (Carl) barely missed a shot, this allowed the chance to win the leg.
- Daniel Flanigan
Carl being a early favourite to take out the competition, it was always going to be a tough ask for Trent to stand up. But Trent started strongly with both players scoring a couple of 140's along the way, Trent narrowly missed out on the first leg but took the second to make it 1-1.
Darts president, Daniel Flanigan, said the story of the match was Carl's dominance on the doubles.
“He barely missed a shot, this allowed the chance to win the leg. This showed in the final score with Carl coming out on top 5-1,” Flanigan said
“Another notable game was Rob Bradbury versus Brian Anderson a match up between two very even players and it did not disappoint. As both players took legs from one another with an excellent finish and score throughout, both players proved they would be knocking on the door of A grade come finals time. Concluding with Brian holding his nerve to come out a 5-3 winner.”
A selection of other scores include Foster Mbewe 5, Boyd Mole 1, Tim Ibbotson 5 and Chris Dawn 3.
