Andre Agassi called tennis the loneliest sport. He wrote, "Of all the games men and women play, tennis is the closest to solitary confinement." While it's in the nature of sportspeople to dramatise their sports, this makes sense to me. Being alone is a problem for a tennis player to navigate and clearly there are varying methods.
