Current number nine Nic Naitanui uploaded a picture of a very fit looking Cousins onto his Instagram page, inside West Coast's medical rooms at Domain Stadium with the caption N I NE.
The Eagles ruckman is the first player to wear the jumper at the club since Cousins left the Eagles at the end of 2007.
According to the Eagles, the former Brownlow Medallist regularly pops into the club he played in a premiership for.
The 37-year-old, who played 238 games for the Eagles, has fought a long-standing battle with drug addiction. He was deregistered by the AFL for the whole of the 2008 season because of his addiction problems.
He made a comeback to the Tigers in 2009 and played 32 games for Richmond over two years.
Late last year there were rumours the fallen AFL star was mulling over an offer of a spot on TV reality show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.
Speaking on 3AW Breakfast, showbiz guru Peter Ford said while nothing was set in stone, Cousins was being considered for a stint in the South African jungle as a contestant on the Channel Ten show.
"Could it be that he [Cousins] is going to be going into the jungle. Word is that he's got the offer on the table and he's looking at it.," Peter Ford said.
Cousins' playing career had almost every imaginable honour - a Brownlow Medal in 2005, an AFL premiership the following year, captaincy of the West Coast Eagles and six All-Australian jumpers.
