Ms McCulloch outlined her five major policies in a speech at Outback at the Isa on Friday saying economic development was crucial to future success.
“To encourage investment into the region, we will develop an investment portfolio with all the necessary information,” she said.
Ms McCulloch said they would appoint an economic development and innovation officer to promote industry.
“Part of this role would be to actively pursue funding opportunities from outside projects such as the Northern Australia White Paper,” she said.
Ms McCulloch said they would also be looking at funding opportunities through tourism.
Her second policy was around “safe and healthy communities” which involved additional facilities to areas of the city lacking in them, possibly including a second skate park.
The third policy was innovation and technology, with Ms McCulloch saying the Council needed to lift its game with its community interactions.
Responsible management was priority number four.
Ms McCulloch said responsible management in the maintenance of infrastructure led to financial stability, using her background in retail as an example.
“(That means) exceptional customer service and a need to understand your products,” she said.
The last priority was water.
“We need a collaborative approach with the Water Board, concentrate on cost savings and being solutions driven,” she said.
Ms McCulloch then introduced her team running for council: George Fortune, Phil Barwick, Jean Ferris, Alan Baillie, Joel Pate and Matt Cain.
