Urandangie received 162mm of rain in three hours this morning while the surrounding area also received large amounts of rain.

Flooding in the township of Dajarra has led to several people being evacuated from homes this morning.

At this time, everyone has been accounted for but a number of vehicles in the area have been impacted by flood waters.

Shelly Ryan publican of the Dajarra Hotel said the pub was fine but around seven houses in and around Matheson Street had water through them.

“But everyone is fine,” she said.

Meanwhile Duchess has missed out on the falls so far.

The Duchess Hotel publican said they hoped to get some rain this afternoon.

“Dajarra has had five inches but we’ve had nothing,” he said.

Several roads across the region are currently closed.

Motorists planning to travel in the area over the next few days are being urged to plan ahead and check www.131940.qld.gov.au or call 13 19 40 to check road closure information.

The Mount Isa District Disaster Management Group (DDMG) in conjunction with the Cloncurry and Boulia Local Disaster Management Groups (LDMG) have been activated and are monitoring the situation.
