The Essendon supplements scandal appears set to continue for at least another year, with legal counsel for some of the banned players indicating they will appeal before the Swiss Federal Tribunal.

An appeal must be lodged by Wednesday.

After the CAS decision was handed down in January, AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan said the commission would consider the Brownlow issue in February.

He said Watson and others would be asked to address the commission meeting before it made a decision.

AFL spokesman Patrick Keane said: "At the moment, the commission sits next Monday (February 15). The deadline for the players to appeal is this Wednesday.

"We haven't yet been told if Jobe is appealing, so we are waiting on that," he told the league's website.

AFL Players Association chief executive Paul Marsh said last week that the players had a "right to justice".

"The players still have some time to weigh up the option of an appeal and we'll be in a position to provide further detail once an outcome is reached," he said.

"But fundamentally, these players have a right to justice and to clearing their name. Should any of them decide to appeal, they are merely exercising their right to do so.

"This equally applies to every other player in the competition and the AFLPA advocates this right for all players and will support them."
