It’s a bigger than Melbourne Cup field of 28 candidates for the six councillor positions in Mount Isa and five candidates running for mayor.
Mayor McGrady drew the ballot with David Fletcher 1 in the mayoral ballot, Kim-Maree Burton 2, Chris Boshoff 3, Joyce McCulloch 4 and Kim Coghlan 5.
The order of the 28 council candidates is: 1 Phil Barwick, 2 Shaun Wilde, 3 Paul Stretton, 4 Robert Cutmore, 5 Alvin Hava, 6 Gary Murray, 7 Scott Sheard, 8 Jean Ferris, 9 Bobby Wehrman, 10 Mick Tully, 11 Sharon Sellings, 12 Travis Crowther, 13 Bob Burow, 14 Russell Young, 15 Joel Pate, 16 John Tully, 17 Matt Cain, 18 Michael Beard, 19 Leann Short, 20 Anne Pittis, 21 Steph King, 22 George Fortune, 23 Hayley Hogan, 24 Peta MacRae, 25 Roslyn Von Senden, 26 Nicholas Maric, 27 Alan Baillie and 28 Donna (Cole) Kuskopf.
There are three teams.
Team (Joyce) McCulloch has Cr George Fortune, Cr Jean Ferris, Alan Baillie, Joel Pate, Matt Cain and Phil Barwick.
Team (Kim) Coghlan has Donna Kuskopf, Robert (Bob) Burow, Peta MacRae, Paul Stretton, Sharon Sellings and Michael Tully.
David Fletcher’s team “Locals United” has Alvin Hava, Hayley Hogan, Roslyn Von Senden, Nicholas Maric, Stephanie King and Leann Shaw.
Independent council candidates are Michael Beard, Travis Crowther, Robert Cutmore, Gary Murray, Anne Marie Pittis, Scott Sheard, Colin Tully, Bobby Wehrman, Shaun Wilde and Russell Young.
The vote for mayor will be optional preferential.
You can vote for up to six councillors.
The election will be held on Saturday, March 19.
Voting is compulsory.
