BRISBANE
Biding his time: Young gun Ben Keays is banging the door down for an AFL debut. With Rockliff and Rich doubtful, the window is open for a man who had 39 possessions and 149 points in the NEAFL last week.

CARLTON
Free falling: Brendon Bolton's arrival has paved the way for a renaissance for many Carlton players, but for some, it has worked the opposite way. Bolton's choice to play two ruckmen has affected Matthew Kreuzer, whose stock has fallen drastically and he is yet to score over 65.

COLLINGWOOD
Contentious: If a rabbit is pulled out of the bag and Scott Pendlebury is given defender status, he'll be the most relevant player in Ultimate Footy this year. If he doesn't, he'll still be in the top five.

ESSENDON
Rising star: Two games in and one thing is for certain – Darcy Parish is already a star. It's a big call, but scores of 97 and 102 make it justifiable. A full season will do wonders for his development.

FREMANTLE
Writing on the wall: If the general consensus is anything to go by, the Ultimate Footy world has collectively written Michael Barlow off. After teasing all pre-season, Barlow's performances have mimicked that of his poor 2015. Prove us wrong, Michael.

GEELONG
Evergreen: It's only been two rounds, but the relevancy of veteran defenders Corey Enright and Andrew Mackie is still intact. With averages in the mid to low 80s, it could be hard for Chris Scott to prematurely fade them out for younger talent as he has done so often in the past.

GOLD COAST
Breaking out: After two rounds, Jack Martin already looks to have emerged as a breakout player this season. With Harley Bennell gone, Martin kicked four goals and scored 112 points against Fremantle.

GREATER WESTERN SYDNEY
Runner's game: 2016 looks like the season Tom Scully could finally kick it up a notch. The interchange cap works right in his favour and he has scores of 100 and 138 to prove it.

HAWTHORN
Boundless possibilities: If a key defender like Josh Gibson can amass 45 possessions in a game that was supposed to be a tight contest, then that proves that anything could and will happen in fantasy footy.

MELBOURNE
In the shadows: Perhaps the most unheralded breakout performance is happening right under our eyes, unless you own him in any league. Ben Kennedy is now averaging 83, including a score of 90 in round two.

NORTH MELBOURNE
Tagger: After missing out in round one, Ben Jacobs did a number on Daniel Rich, which serves as a warning to the other elite players of the competition. Nathan Jones, you may be next.

PORT ADELAIDE
Improvement: If there is any way Chad Wingard could become a more complete player, it's finding an elite level of consistency. While he has had his big moments in big games, he has also faded into the background in others, such was the case in the Showdown, where he only managed 24 points. He won't face the Bombers on Friday night.

RICHMOND
Steal: If these two rounds are anything to go by, then Kane Lambert is possibly the draft or free agent steal of the season. As it stands, he's the only Tiger to average over 100.

ST KILDA
Marvel: Should we need any reminder that Nick Riewoldt hasn't wavered in his final years, we only need to look at his performance on Saturday in his 300th game. Easily St Kilda's best, producing 119 points. Well done Nick.

SYDNEY
Tall timber: There are a lot of things pointing in the right direction in the harbour city, one of which is that all of the Swans' talls are in form leading up to their derby. Kurt Tippett (116), Lance Franklin (86) and Callum Sinclair (91) may all pose too big of a problem for GWS.

WEST COAST
Return: With Luke Shuey facing a fitness test to be ready for the western derby this week, Chris Masten is set for a return. After missing the opening rounds, Masten may be on the free agents pile, and should be signed immediately.

WESTERN BULLDOGS
Diamond: If anything, the Bulldogs have unearthed a gem in Marcus Adams. Identifying their need for a key defender, Adams has reaped the rewards of the Bulldogs' inclusive game plan, with his maiden fantasy ton against St Kilda.
