Ms Caslick’s mother Robyn, also a PCYC worker, posted on the organisation’s social media page to acknowledge her loss.
“Our beautiful staff member Tanika Caslick passed away suddenly on Sunday, 10th April. RIP,” she said.
She posted a photograph of Ms Caslick and the PCYC’s adopted cat Professor McGonagall. The cat was said by a member to have followed Ms Caslick everywhere.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend the funeral next Tuesday.
“Family request donations to the Mount Isa Hospital Children’s Ward in lieu of flowers,” the advertised funeral notice said.
Mount Isa Police Station’s officer in charge, Senior Sergeant Col Henderson, said police had little information as they had little involvement. “We believe it was a heart attack but we can’t confirm that,” he said.
