Happy Valley students will pedal their hearts out at Barkly Highway State School’s undercover area to raise funds for extensions to the kindergarten.
President of the Happy Valley Kindergarten Committee Jess Grummit said the main development being planned was a major extension.
“We currently have an undercover area that we want to enclose and air condition to make it bigger and better for summer,” Ms Grummit said.
Deputy Principal of Barkly School Ash Wagh said the day was also about teaching children cycling safety.
“I feel that it’s important for us to work together with all members of the community to achieve the best outcome for all children,” Mr Wagh said.
This is the first time that Happy Valley Kindergarten has partnered with Barkly Highway State School.
Brumby’s, Queensland Country Credit Union and Coles have sponsored the event.
