Coach, Paul White, said the boys were rearing to go and keen on defending their title they won last year.
“The boys have been training hard and are determined to put in a big effort at the carnival. Midfielders Peter Wilson, Andrew Homuk and Mark Cadzow should be fed a glut of ball from giant recruit Brett Oates controlling the ruck work. The coastal teams were shocked by the team work and commitment shown by the Isa players last year, and no doubt they will show more respect to the boys from the west,” he said.
Magpies are also competing in the inaugural Battle of Midway Carnival to be held in Richmond May 21. Teams from Townsville, Charters Towers and Mount Isa will compete .
White stated that more players were required for both carnivals. Training is held every Friday at Legends Oval on Sports Parade at 6pm. If interested contact Paul on 0428 102 732.
