Mr Jones met with Brumbies chairman Robert Kennedy and lawyers on Friday to discuss the next step in a month-long stoush that has put powerbrokers at odds.

Mr Kennedy had hoped to come to an "amicable" agreement to settle the matter, but Mr Jones emphatically declined to accept and will stay in charge of the Brumbies.

Mr Jones sent a letter this week to seven of the club's major sponsors to apologise for potential damage to their brands, adding that he expected to be sacked by the board on Thursday.

But despite a turbulent 48 hours, Mr Jones was successful in his ACT Supreme Court case against the board and will remain in his position.

It can also be revealed that boardroom voting members were asked to sign an attendance register to warrant they were entitled to vote and to keep confidential all matters discussed and documents viewed when they met with the board on Thursday night.

"We went to a meeting today, I haven't accepted an offer and the offer they made, there's no way I'm going to accept it," Mr Jones said.

"They can come back with an offer if they want. But I have the support of the ACT Supreme Court to maintain and execute my position as CEO, and that's what I'm doing.

"I'm happy to stand by scrutiny of my record. Our crowds are up 2300 on last year, our revenue is up on last year and we're looking to make a profit this year, we're on top of the Australian conference and we're re-signing players."

Mr Jones told sponsors in an email this week that he was trying to minimise the effects on sponsors, detailing ways they could remind the board of their right to invoke a reputational damage clause and hold the board liable for damages.

The board failed in its bid to overturn Mr Jones' temporary whistleblower protection in the ACT Supreme Court on Thursday, meaning Mr Jones can continue as chief executive.

Justice Richard Refshauge said in his judgement that Mr Jones' public interest disclosures were a "dominant factor" in the board's decision to stand down Mr Jones on March 21.

The KPMG report into transactions at the Brumbies between 2009 and 2013 relating to the $11.375 million sale of the club's Griffith base and move to the University of Canberra is at the centre of the angst, and its details have been suppressed in court.

Mr Jones' evidence said that Mr Kennedy explained to him that there was pressure being placed on the Brumbies to terminate his contract.

Justice Refshauge said an affidavit filed by board member Angus McKerchar said the board had other concerns, including that Mr Jones was "too direct and aggressive" in relation to the club's stakeholders.

The Brumbies board then organised a rival meeting of boardroom voting members in Tuggeranong on Thursday night instead of attending a scheduled extraordinary general meeting at the University of Canberra in Bruce.

The meetings have left Canberra's rugby community divided with no end in sight for the off-field drama.

The Australian Rugby Union has been keeping a close eye on proceedings as its best performing team on the field struggles to maintain peace off it.

"We know that Canberra is a strong Rugby community and that the Brumbies have been one of our most successful provinces in Super Rugby. We are keen to see this matter resolved in an expeditious manner," said an ARU spokesman.

There have also been rumours the ARU would be willing to move Brumbies home games to Western Sydney in the coming years if the club continues to struggle financially.

The NSW government has committed $1.6 billion to a major stadium revamp in Western Sydney and codes are under pressure to find content for the venues.

"ARU has supported the NSW Government's plans for the redevelopment of the stadium network and it is clear that the Government is looking to secure content for the venues. We will be assisting them to deliver this content however we maintain that our priority is to retain a national footprint for the game," the spokesman said.
