ACT Brumbies winger Joe Tomane is "praying for some good news" on his right knee so he can help his Super Rugby province "reignite" their season against the Highlanders in Invercargill on Saturday.

The Brumbies are also sweating on how co-captain Stephen Moore pulls up on Tuesday after he limped off with a calf problem just after half-time against the Crusaders on Sunday.
Tomane may have damaged the medial ligament in his right knee in the dying minutes of the loss to the Crusaders.
Brumbies coach Stephen Larkham said Tomane will have scans on Tuesday, while he thinks Moore only has bruising.
The 26-year-old picked up the injury in the 76th minute when he received a bouncing pass from Nigel Ah Wong inside the Brumbies' half.
He chased his own grubber kick through the Crusaders' line, diving forward to gather the ball and passing to centre Tevita Kuridrani on his outside.
Crusaders flanker Matt Todd hurdled the prone Tomane and their legs clipped, leaving Tomane clutching his knee in pain.
As their leading try-scorer with six for the season, Tomane's finishing has been pivotal for the Brumbies.
He has run in four tries in his last two games, including a hat-trick against the NSW Waratahs in the Brumbies' first win at the Sydney Football Stadium since 2002.
"It should be good. I'm not too sure [what's wrong], but hopefully we'll be right," Tomane told Fairfax Media.
"I just tangled up with one of the Crusaders boys. Obviously it was accidental. We just tripped up with each other, just one of those things really.
"I'll get some scans and [I'm] praying for some good news. That's the goal [to play the Highlanders].
"I really want to help the team reignite our season. We've got three losses now in the middle part of the season.
"If we want to be there at the end of the year we've got start winning some games and start stringing some games [together]."
Faced with the potential loss of his first choice wingers - Henry Speight is with the Australian sevens squad - Larkham preferred to see the situation as creating opportunities for others.
Robbie Coleman has taken over from Speight, while there are several options to cover Tomane, including James Dargaville, Nigel Ah Wong and Lausii Taliauli.
"I think it will give a couple of guys an opportunity. We've lost Ita [Vaea] for the season and I think we've got able coverage for him in the forward pack," Larkham said.
"In the back line there's a couple of guys who haven't had a lot of game time - Nigel, James Dargaville, Lausii, and Henry's off with the sevens for the time being.
"There's still a couple of guys who haven't had an opportunity, [who] depending on what happens might get an opportunity this week."
Tomane relished his battle with Crusaders winger Nemani Nadolo on Sunday, despite the Fijian scoring the Crusaders' first try and setting up another.
"It was good. I was really looking forward to that match-up just to see where I'm at. He's one of the best going around in world rugby and I really want to test myself against the best," Tomane said.
"He really tested me. At least when I look over at my individual performance I'll be able to pinpoint where I need to improve as a player. It's good to play against those quality guys."
The Brumbies fly to New Zealand on Wednesday morning.
