Disappointed Katter is running again
Can I just say how disappointed I was to find out Bob Katter is running for Kennedy again in the 2016 federal election.

Bob, for the last 20 odd years we have been talking about dams and off-stream storages.
How can anyone treat us seriously if you think you can make water run uphill from the Gulf of Carpentaria to the rich, fertile north west area?
The canal you are talking about is why nobody takes you seriously anymore.
I was very sorry to hear about your 11 school friends killed on the Barkly Highway between Cloncurry and Camooweal.
But I do ask the question about whether the government may have anticipated the two million tonnes of copper concentrate that was going to be travelling via that highway from Ernest Henry to the copper concentrator in Mount Isa.
That alone was a big carrot to dangle in front of any government.
I also wonder who you are going to give your preferences to at this election so everyone knows where your heart really is.
I’m sure there would be a few unions that would like to know where to put their money as well.

Vegetation Management Petition
Recently, I launched a petition in response to the Palaszczuk Government’s Vegetation Management (Reinstatement) and Other Legislation Amendment Bill, as an opportunity for all Queenslanders to register their opposition to Labor’s plans.
The Palaszczuk Government’s rollback of the Liberal National Party’s sensible changes to the vegetation management framework in 2013 will remove property rights.
It will also reduce the productivity of the agricultural sector and threaten jobs in regional communities.
Queenslanders need to be aware that Labor’s proposed amendments are more extensive and aggressive than simply overturning the LNP’s 2013 changes.
This petition is an opportunity for Queenslanders to send a message to their local MP.
The Palaszczuk Government plans to repeal the important High Value Agriculture pathway to development, threatening to bring Queensland's agriculture sector and future economic growth in regional Queensland to a screaming halt.
Freehold landowners will be stripped of their right to manage regrowth and amazingly, landholders will also be considered guilty until proven innocent, as Labor proposes to re-instate the reversal of the onus of proof for alleged offences under the Act.
I’m very pleased that AgForce Queensland and other rural industry groups are standing with the LNP Opposition on this issue.
The e-petition can be accessed at http://www.parliament.qld.gov.au/work-of-assembly/petitions/e-petitions.
