New Zealand internationals Manu Vatuvei, Ben Matulino, Bodene Thompson and Konrad Hurrell are among six Warriors players dumped by coach Andrew McFadden after going out until 3am following the team's return from their 42-0 ANZAC Day thrashing by Melbourne Storm.

Albert Vete and Sam Lisone have also been dropped from Sunday's match against St George Illawarra at Mt Smart Stadium after failing to meet club standards by going out on Tuesday night and being late for a team meeting on Wednesday.

The six went out on Tuesday night after the team returned from Melbourne and played poker before finishing at an Auckland Viaduct bar at about 3am on Wednesday. Hurrell and Vete were not drinking alcohol but the others were.

The Warriors did not have training on Wednesday but a team meeting was scheduled and some of the players were late.

The players were later interviewed by Warriors managing director Jim Doyle and a HR representative before a decision was made to drop the six to the NSW Cup this weekend.

"It was a decision we have looked at internally over the last day or so, we have met high standards as an organisation and we expect our players to meet those standards," Doyle told Radio Sport.

"We expect all of our players to be professional and meet all of our standards and in this case it is very disappointing that those players haven't.

"We met with the players as a group and we have further meetings with them individually. They were disappointed, emotional, regretful etc.

"We want to have a successful club that we are all proud of and that means you have to have a high performance, professional culture and when things don't go the way they are supposed to go you have to take the appropriate action to make sure everybody is aware of what our standards are.

"We want long term success and to do that we have to certain things in place. Our expectations are that every single player who plays for the Warriors is a professional makes everyone associated with the club proud.

"We need our players to prepare well to do the things that are required to play in a tough competition and when people don't do that you obviously need to take necessary steps."

The changes have opened the way for 21-year-old prop Toafofoa Sipley to make his NRL debut against the Dragons while Sione Lousi, John Palavi and Matt Allwood have earned NRL recalls.

McFadden said all four players have impressed in the NSW Cups side's last two winning displays against North Sydney and Newcastle.

McFadden won't confirm his starting line-up and interchange until an hour before the match against the Dragons.
