The crowd that turned up was estimated to be around 500.
Organisers Bek Moore and Emma Harman observed that numbers were down compared to last year’s inaugural event.
They held the event to raise money for their associated Shitbox Car Rally – aimed at raising money for cancer research. They drive a donated car from Mackay to Hobart.
Attendees of the Colours for Cancer event ran, jogged or walked the five kilometre course along the lake, and sprayed each other with paint.
The crowd gathered to release one last burst of colourful paint before the event finished.
