The Trash and Treasure markets will be held at the Outback at Isa car park on Sunday morning.
At the same time there would be a sale of second hand clothing inside the building.
In total there would be 34 different stalls.
There were to be 14 stocked inside specialising in second hand clothing, and 20 private stalls from members of the community in the car park.
This was the first trash and treasure sale to be held but the third second hand clothing market that Outback at Isa has held.
Ms Rixon said they wanted to use the car park for an event while Mount Isa experienced cooler weather.
“I thought people that don’t have too much for a Buy Swap and Sale but not enough for a garage sale would have a good chance to have a clean-up.
“It’s a great opportunity to get ride of something in one go,” she said, adding that she would have her own stall.
“It gives me a goal if we can sell it. So you can grab a bargain I reckon.”
Toys and bric-a-brac were expected types of item that were to be on sale.
But Ms Rixon have also noticed a common type of item on sale during the previous hand hand clothing sales.
“There seems to be a lot of racewear and ball gowns that people bring. And fascinators,” she said.
There would be portable change rooms in tents that people could use to try on the clothing.
It would be of benefit to locals but also to tourists.
“When they come through if they aren’t prepared for cold or heat they can get a bargain, and pick up a double pair of pluggers,” she said.
“It will be good to see the results of the trash and treasure.”
Outback at Isa would consider holding further sales but it depended on the turnout on Sunday.
Ms Rixon acknowledged the Overlander Markets will be held at the same time.
She said it would be a good chance for people to attend both markets, and also attend the Outback at Isa cafe and museum.
