Richmond have lost another first-choice player for Saturday night's clash with Sydney.

Defender Bachar Houli hurt his right wrist at training on Thursday, and was withdrawn from the Tigers' side on Friday, replaced by Taylor Hunt. Houli will see a specialist to determine the extent of the damage. Hunt's spot in the emergencies was taken by Dan Butler. Richmond (1-6) had already lost Kamdyn McIntosh to a serious ankle injury. Trent Cotchin (cheekbone) and Kane Lambert (rib/lung) are also sidelined, but the Tigers have regained Alex Rance and Dylan Grimes. Jason Castagna was dropped.

The Swans meanwhile (6-1) have lost star midfielder Josh Kennedy to a hamstring injury. In his absence, Jack Hiscox is set to debut. James Rose and Xavier Richards have also replaced Brandon Jack and Tyrone Leonardis as emergencies. The Swans had earlier lost Ben McGlynn and Dean Robinson to leg and shoulder ailments respectively. They had been replaced on Thursday night by Ted Richards and Dean Towers.

Richmond onballer Anthony Miles said the Tigers were upbeat despite six straight defeats. "I think for three quarters last week against Hawthorn we showed some really good signs," Miles said on Friday.

"So we've taken a fair bit of confidence out of that.

"The mood [around the club] been really good.

"He's copped a fair bit of criticism of late, and ultimately it's the playing group that's been letting the club down."
