But he has vowed he and halves partner Blake Austin will take more control as they look to break a two-game losing streak against the New Zealand Warriors in New Plymouth on Saturday.

Sezer's left boot came agonisingly close to securing victory in extra-time, with his first attempt shaving the cross bar and the second hitting the right post.

"Yeah it is [tough not to dwell on it], but that's the NRL," Sezer said.

"It's small margins and I just have to work on it at training, hopefully it goes through the posts next time."

The 16-12 loss to the Dragons at Kogarah followed a 19-18 defeat to Penrith, meaning the Raiders will drop out of the top eight should they lose to the Warriors.

The match marked jut the second time this year Gold Coast recruit Sezer has played back-to-back games alongside halves partner Blake Austin, with both hit by injuries.

The rust in their still developing combination was evident against the Dragons, with the ball being passed to a forward on the last tackle on a few occasions.

Austin copped a knock to his nose in a Joel Thompson hit which eventually saw the former Raider suspended one match for a careless high tackle.

"It's got to be in the halves' hands on the last tackle, and we'll work on that at training," Sezer said.

"It [combination] is still a work in progress and we need to get the hours on the field to make it easier for us.

It's just coming down to a bit of execution. We could have won those two games, but at the death those few dropped goals is execution."

The Raiders made 15 errors compared to four for the Dragons, which validates coach Ricky Stuart's post match assessment that "we keep beating ourselves".

"For sure, that and a lot of other factors definitely doesn't help our cause, dropping a lot of pill and having to defend back-to-back sets," Sezer said.

"But we can improve in other areas as well."

The Raiders will depart for New Zealand on Tuesday, an unhappy hunting ground where they have lost their past five games by at least 19 points.

"It will be good to get away and get a week under our belts in a new environment, we're definitely looking to bounce back after a couple of losses," Sezer said.

"They [Warriors] are a very big and mobile team who are coming off a loss, too."

The Warriors look set to be without Solomone Kata after he was charged with making dangerous contact to the head or neck of Jamie Soward during Saturday's home loss to Penrith.

The centre will miss a week even with an early guilty plea due to carry-over points.
