Rovers had to fight hard to overcome stubborn resistance from an improving Buffalos in their Round 4 clash at Legends Oval on Saturday.

For three solid quarters Buffs were in with a good chance of winning before Rovers AFC kicked away in the final quarter.
It was even steven at the end of the first quarter with both sides kicking four goals and two behinds.
Rovers had a narrow lead at half time in a low scoring quarter to go to the break 5.5 (35) to 4.3 (27) ahead.
Even at the end of the so-called premiership quarter it was still tight at 7.11 (53) to 6.4 (40).
Tired legs finally proved the difference as Rovers pulled away to with 14.17 (101) to Buffs 6.6 (42)
Zachary Bell, Kane Jardine, and Hamish Crisp all kicked two majors and Rhys Zippel bagged one.
Justin Age was the star man up front for Buffs kicking five goals with Brad Thompson getting the other.
According to the Buffs match report they keep improving each game under Sharky and Tom with a great first and second quarter before tiring.
Rovers may have won the game but struggled to get a cricket score against the Buffs.
The other game was Young Guns against Tigers and the Lake Nash side kept up its unbeaten side this season.
Young Guns were up for it from the start kicking five goals straight in the first quarter against 0.3.
By half time the lead had ballooned out to 38 points, 8.2 (50) to 1.6 (12).
There was no let up in the third quarter with Lake Nash outscoring Tigers three goals to one and they ease off in the final quarter to win by 54 points.
The final score Young Guns 13.6 (84), Tigers 3.12 (30)
Selwyn Teece and Jameson Billy both kicked four goals for the Young Guns with Leo Petrick also bagging three majors.
There were also goals for Jeremy King and David Petrick.
Bernard Crawford, Christopher Downes, Kelvin Ross got the Tigers’ goals.
The big question at this stage of the stage is are young Guns Playing that well, or have the other sides slipped.
But well done to the travelling side who continue to lead.
The coaching staff for Tigers has some work to do but remain confident in the knowledge Grand Finals are not won in round 4.
