North Melbourne have denied that Ben Jacobs' season is over despite the tagger meeting with a specialist on Thursday to discuss treatment options for his foot issues.

It was reported on Thursday afternoon that Jacobs would have surgery on Friday after breaking his foot.
But the Roos tweeted in response to the report, claiming that no call had been made on the former Port Adelaide midfielder.
"Jacobs met with specialist today re foot," the club said.
"No decision on treatment yet. No surgery planned at this stage. Reports re season over unfounded."
The club's football director Geoff Walsh later clarified the situation.
"We've been managing and closely monitoring an issue with Ben's foot since January," Walsh said in a release.
"A hot spot flared up this week and scans revealed a very small stress fracture in his fifth metatarsal.
"The club is now assessing various treatment options, with surgery a real possibility.
"Early advice is that if surgery is required, he'll be looking at eight to ten weeks on the sidelines.
"Reports that Ben won't return for the remainder of the home and away season are unfounded and speculative."
Jacobs, 24, has done sterling jobs this season on Melbourne captain Nathan Jones, Western Bulldogs midfielder Lachie Hunter, St Kilda best and fairest Jack Steven and Essendon star David Zaharakis.
The Roos have a mounting injury list including Jed Anderson (hamstring), Taylor Garner (hamstring), Shaun Higgins (knee), Kayne Turner (hamstring), Daniel Wells (leg), Sam Wright (ankle), Mason Wood (concussion) and Lachie Hansen (concussion).
Meanwhile, Farren Ray said he expects to be nervous ahead of his first game for the Roos, a moment which he described as meaning "everything".
Ray, 30, will make his debut for the ladder-leading Kangaroos on Saturday night against Carlton, after North announced his selection on Thursday, prior to the Jacobs revelation.
The 205-game veteran – who spent five years at the Bulldogs and seven at the Saints – was taken by the Roos in last year's rookie draft following his delisting by the St Kilda.
He is included alongside Michael Firrito and Trent Dumont. Wood and Daw miss through injury, while Majak Daw has been dropped.
Ray was initially elevated to the rookie list prior to the round four clash against Fremantle, a match for which he was an emergency. The midfielder was demoted after youngster Ed Vickers-Willis was reinstated to the senior list from the long-term injury list, but Ray returned to the senior list last week following Higgins' serious knee injury.
Ray said he was excited after coach Brad Scott delivered the news of his promotion.
"As Brad walked over to me I was thinking, maybe I'm a chance, or is he going to see Sam [Gibson] or Dal [Nick Dal Santo]?" Ray told the club's website.
"I was rapt. Nicky Dal was near me, Sam Gibson, [I've] played obviously a lot of footy with Dal and they've played a lot on the wing so I'll be able to go through the role with them."
Ray said he would be nervous ahead of the match.
"You always get the butterflies in the stomach before any game, especially the first game for another football club.
"It will mean everything. I've played at two clubs before this but there's a rich sort of history here.
"It's definitely a different experience being on the rookie list this year, but [a] great opportunity the club's given me and I haven't thought too much about the rookie list, I've just tried to go about my business, train well and play well on the weekends and a spot's opened up so it's really good.
"I came in at the end of last year and now I'm playing, so it's terrific."
Wells and Hansen were ruled out of this week's action by Scott on Thursday.
