After hosting a successful come and try day recently, the meeting will provide, both those interested in joining the sport or those just looking for something to do on the weekend with a chance to see the karts up close and personal.
Mount Isa Go Kart public relations officer, Thomas Glasson, said for the first time this year the meeting would feature a five minute qualifying session to set the grid order for the nights racing.
“First up for the night is the cadet nine class. After impressing all in his first meeting of the season Mason Seabourne will line up against new karter Myles Campbell,” he said
“In Cadet 12 Tara Sidnell will be out to defend the title she won in the class last year while elder sister Allisa will start out as early favorite when she lines up in the KA3 junior class.
“After taking out the last two race meetings in succession Anthony Rowsell will be going for a hat trick of wins in the KA3 senior light class. After finishing runner up last time out Matthew Cobden will be looking to knock Rowsell of the top step with Anthony English and Sam Hall also in with a chance of taking out the win.”

KA3 Senior Heavy is sure to provide plenty of entertainment as class front runners Mark Ezzy, Trevor Hollyman and Adam Chirio all look to take out the top step of the podium. After a strong first outing Toby Seabourne is looking to improve on his third place from last meeting.
The final class for the night will also be the fastest. The TAG 125 heavy class will see karts reach speeds close to 100km/h on the short 80 meter straight. After getting his title defence of to the perfect start last time out Kevin Rowsell will head into the event as one of the early favorites ahead of Shaune English and Scott Geary.
Racing kicks off at 5pm on Saturday with the action continuing under lights. Entry is free with food and drinks available. Closed in footwear will allow pits entry.
