Hannah Hacon, who lives at Granada Station, said the property received 47mm on Monday night, and a total 63mm. Granada is 100 kilometres north of Cloncurry.
“It was great soaking rain. It was beautiful,” Mrs Hacon said.
“My husband (Peter) says it will be great for our country and that our grass will respond well.”
“Very unseasonable though. It’s slowed mustering up. Shed work today (Tuesday)!”
Cowan Downs, a station that borders on the shires of Cloncurry and Carpentaria, received 30mm, said grazier Cheri Stanger.
Jane McMillan, from Corella Park Station, said they received 75 mm. They counted themselves lucky, and it had been exciting to have more rain at the end of a good season.
