Mount Isa’s Ngukuthati Men’s Shed and Ngukuthati Children and Family Centre held a White Wreath Walk and remembrance ceremony on Monday, from Frank Aston Museum Car Park in Marian Street, proceeding to the Civic Centre for a wreath laying and remembrance service.
The NWHHS staff supported the local event and issued a challenge by social media for other local organisations, businesses, government agencies, the Mount Isa City Council and the Chamber of Commerce to encourage their staff to do the same.
NWHHS Chief Executive, Lisa Davies Jones, who wore white on Monday on her visits to the Julia Creek and Cloncurry Multi Purpose Health Services, said it was important people understood there were many avenues for local support in the North West, as well as national phone lines for immediate crisis support.
