Here's her first person perspective on attending the expo: I must admit, when I hear the word psychic I immediately cringe. How could someone flip some cards and know everything about your life? How can you do that without stalking their Facebook page or holding a conversation? It's a concept I never considered to be legit.
This attitude of mine changed on Wednesday when I attended my first psychic experience at the Overlander Hotel.
My mum once said to me that psychics can tell more about you from the way you dress or act. I prepared in advance for the expo. I dressed bland, in a black shirt and shorts and removed all jewellery. I also knew exactly what questions I wanted to ask.
The room was exactly as I envisioned, hippie atmosphere, purple and gold tacky table cloths, candles and multicoloured rocks scattered across the room. But my reading was one that I didn't predict.
I sat across from a lady called Amba- Crystal who pulled out her tarot cards and asked me to shuffle them and ask them questions in my mind.
This woman knew me like the back of her hand: in a nutshell, she said I stress over everything, especially work (dead right), I am in the right career (thank gosh), my family are far away from me (they are in Gilgandra, NSW) and I get sick easily and I hate being cold (quite true).
Amba told me of my relationship, that there was a lot of short travel (there is back and forth to the station) and that it would stop in three months when he changes his job (he has told me he wants to work back in town).
Amba predicted that I would receive a pay-rise in three months time and will change my role by the end of the year. She also said I would leave Mount Isa in two years (guess I will have to wait and see).
We then moved to family and Amba said my sister was trying to have a baby (I do not have a sister, but I have a friend I call my sister). This was true. She continued and said I will hear more news of this in December.
Amba continued and asked me to think of one person and pick five cards. I chose my grandfather. Amba also told me that my grandfather has problems with his feet (he does and he keeps falling over), and that he will be in and out of hospital over the coming months (he has already been admitted once this month).
Thirty minutes later and Amba had told me about myself and what I need to work on: take time out and focus on what is happening now.
She was pretty accurate, and I was honestly amazed by her talent.
