Police have tracked down Parramatta Eels five-eighth Corey Norman and issued him with an official warning for consorting with criminals.

Detectives had hoped to speak to Norman, 25, on Wednesday to issue him with the warning and to question him over drugs allegations.

Instead police had to visit his legal team to issue him with a court attendance notice after he was allegedly found with MDMA capsules and muscle relaxants at The Star casino on Friday night.

Fairfax Media has been told detectives caught up with Norman on Thursday morning and issued him the warning for consorting.

Under NSW law, police must issue someone with an official warning for consorting before they can be charged with the offence which carries a maximum of three years' jail.

Norman's housemate, Penrith Panthers hooker James Segeyaro, was issued with the same warning on Wednesday morning.

But when police arrived at the pair's Silverwater home, Norman was not there

His Parramatta Eels teammate Junior Paulo was handed the same warning by detectives from the organised crime squad on Tuesday night.

The warnings follow Fairfax Media publishing a photo of the NRL trio dining at The Century Chinese restaurant with former bikies boss Paulie Younan and alleged fraudster and money launderer Rafat Alameddine.

Mr Alameddine's younger brother, Talal, is in Goulburn's Supermax prison, charged with supplying the gun used to kill NSW police accountant Curtis Cheng at Parramatta last year.
