The Cloncurry Shire Council seeks nominations from local business owners to join the committee, which begins in July.
Councillor Brad Rix was nominated to become the council’s representative on the committee during last week’s council meeting.
But the council sought a business representative to chair the meetings.
The committee required a chair, a secretary, six local business representatives and two community representatives, according to the council agenda.
Cloncurry Shire Council mayor Greg Campbell said the committee was about the council and businesses working together to support local business.
This could be done through assistance in development, communication, networking, and promotion, he said.
“Council is committed to help the business community in the shire,” Cr Campbell said. Nomination forms are available online at www.cloncurry.qld.gov.au/nomination-form. Monday, June 13, is the closing date.
