The first game was between fifth placed Atlas B and seventh placed Concordia A. Atlas B scored first with a great breakaway run from Kyle Rogers-Page putting it over the keeper from just outside the 18 yard box. However just before half time Concordia A leveled with a one on one effort from Kane Patterson. In the second half both teams were tiring, however Atlas B’s fitness level was not high enough to play without subs, and they conceded four goals in the second half to finish 5-1.
Third placed Sandfire Bulls and eighth placed Concordia B were up next being a one sided affair with Concordia only having 10 players. However they battled well to only be down 4-1 at half time. In the second half was a different story with the Bulls running away victors 12-1.
The 5pm match between second placed and current cup holders Parkside A and fourth placed Parkside B ended with a forfeit, giving Parkside A automatic entry into the semi finals.
The final match of the night was between first placed Atlas A and six placed Isa Roos ending 2-0 to Atlas A. Atlas A started strongly putting a lot of pressure on Isa Roos keeping them in their own half. The first goal came from Carl Rogers -Page as he followed up a free kick that the keeper spilled. The second goal was put away by Dean Kelley as he had an easy tap in from inside the six yard box after a cross from Andrew Fraser. Atlas created a number of chances, but just couldn’t find that final ball to further their two goal lead.
The second half followed much of the same path as the first, with Atlas applying a lot of pressure, however not able to find the that final ball or accuracy of shots to put the game beyond doubt. The match finished 2-0 to Atlas A.
The Scottish Cup semi finals will see Concordia A, Sandfire Bulls, Parkside A and Atlas A progress through.
Next week round 10 of the league continues with Isa Roos taking on Parkside B at 1pm, Cloncurry taking on Atlas A at 3pm, Parkside A taking on Concordia A at 5pm, and Concordia B taking on Sandfire Bulls at 7pm. Atlas B have a bye.
