THREE community groups in Mount Isa have received more than $10,000 to support their volunteers as part of the Australian Government’s Volunteer Grants 2015.

Northern-based LNP Senator Ian Macdonald, together with Senate colleague Joanna Lindgren and Kennedy LNP candidate Jonathan Pavetto congratulated the groups at a special function in Mount Isa on Sunday.
The successful organisations in the Mount Isa area were BUSHkids Mount Isa, which received $2160, Mount Isa State Emergency Service, which received $4902, and Mount Isa Meals on Wheels, which received $3500.
Senator Ian Macdonald said; “In regional areas, volunteering is an important part of the social fabric which helps built stronger and more resilient communities.” Volunteers should be recognised, he said.
